The BMW PGA Championship has stopped play following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The BMW PGA Championship takes place at the Wentworth Club in Surrey, England.

“It's surreal moment here at the golf course. The alarm went off about 6:32 local time that play had stopped on the golf course. That's two minutes after the royal family announce the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. And by all accounts, they plan on stopping play today. There was just an announcement on the golf course sending all of the spectators home. That remains unclear where we go from here. There was a release sent out earlier today, from the DP World Tour that outlined protocols for just this type of thing is news about the Queen's ailing ailments started to become public. Exactly what that protocol is is again unclear, but we should expect to hear something within the next hour or so.”
