“Speaking of unpleasant dicks...”: Democrats and Republicans tell their best jokes at WPCF fundraiser.

Democratic and Republican Congress members told their best jokes — and roasted other members of Congress — at the Washington Press Club Foundation’s (WPCF) annual Congressional Dinner on Wednesday evening.

“Nancy Mace couldn’t make it,” said Sen. Tina Smith, a Democrat from Minnesota. “She’s in her happy place inspecting genitals in the House bathroom.”

“I represent northern Utah, and before you ask, yes, I know about the Hulu show,” said Rep. Blake Moore, a Republican from Utah. “Those women on the Hulu show are not my constituents. Nor are they my wives.”

Smith, Moore, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), and Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) were just some of the lawmakers who cracked jokes at the dinner, which serves as a fundraiser — and often a roast — for the WPCF. There were laughs — awkward or otherwise — and boos, as the guests took lighthearted jabs at their fellow members of Congress.

“Before I say this joke, I just want to give all the credit in the world to Congressman Jared Moskowitz. So, if you want to cancel anyone, cancel him, not me,” Lawler said.

“The reason Donald Trump is shutting down USAID … it was a promise he made to Magic Johnson to eradicate U.S. AIDS,” the congressman continued, prompting a muted reaction to his joke about the legendary former basketball player, who has AIDS.

“Lindsey [Graham] said, ‘I’m sorry, I must have my head up my ass,’” Smith recalled, telling a story about how the South Carolina senator mistook her for another senator’s wife when they first met. “Everyone knows that Lindsey’s head is way up Donald Trump’s ass, right?”

But perhaps the most notable part of the night was when Lawler — also known for his Michael Jackson impersonations, including one in blackface around October 2006 — sang a President Donald Trump-inspired version of the Beach Boys’ song “Kokomo.”

“Aruba, Jamaica, Panama, I’ll take ya. Bermuda, Bahamas, Greenland, come home to your mama,” Lawler sang in the voice of Trump. “Off the Mediterranean Seaaaaaa, there’s a place called Gaza-lago. … And thaaaaaaat’s whereeeeee youuuuu wannaaaaa gooooo … to get some USAID.”
