Rep. Mace (R-SC) calls rumors Trump may pick her as his running mate “intriguing,” but she hasn’t “been asked yet.”

Representative Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, appeared on The Daily Show and guest host Charlamagne tha God asked her about whether she’s on “the shortlist” to be former President Donald Trump’s running mate in the 2024 election. “After seeing what happened to Mike Pence,” Charlamagne asked while the audience laughed, “is being Trump's running mate really worth it?”

Mace responded that she hasn’t been asked “yet,” and her focus remains on South Carolina, but that it’s “intriguing. It's interesting. And I think it's a conversation we need to have, because I want my little girl to know that she can be president one day.”

Mike Pence, Trump’s Vice President from 2016-2020, fell out with the president over his refusal to not certify the 2020 election results because Joe Biden had won. during the January 6 insurrection, some insurrectionists in the Capitol were looking for Pence. Since then, he ran as a presidential candidate himself, before becoming the first major candidate to drop out.
