Rep. Buck (R-CO) says he voted for Rep. Johnson (R-LA) for Speaker “because he has the fewest enemies” in House GOP.

Representative Ken Buck, Republican of Colorado, told CNN’s Dana Bash that he voted for Mike Johnson (R-LA) for Speaker of the House “probably because he has the fewest enemies of anybody in the Republican Congress.”

He acknowledged that was an unimpressive rationale, not “the headline of a resume,” but that it’s the “reality” of a House of Representatives with a narrow, four-vote majority.

Buck asked previous Speaker of the House nominee Jim Jordan for “a public statement that Joe Biden is the legitimate president,” but said he didn’t ask for the same commitment from Mike Johnson.

Still, he said “I hope he comes around to that point because it's obvious that Joe Biden is the legitimate president. I think the more that people like Mark Meadows' statements start to come out, it's clear that the people around Donald Trump told Donald Trump that he had lost the election. I think it's time for Republicans to shed themselves of that burden and move forward.”
