During a Task Force on Reproduction Healthcare Access meeting, President Biden had some choice words for Idaho's restrictive abortion law. The University of Idaho recently sent a memo to its employees saying that it was against the law for University of Idaho employees to provide contraception and birth control. Idaho has passed one of the strictest abortion laws since Roe v. Wade was overturned this past summer with the passage of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The Idaho abortion ban law bans abortion after 6 weeks except in cases of rape, incest, and in medical emergencies. Doctors who are found to facilitate an abortion after the 6 weeks can face 2 to 5 years in prison.

BIDEN: “Folks, what century are we in? I mean what are we doing? I respect everyone's view on this personal decisions they make, but my lord, we're talking about contraception here, it shouldn't be that controversial, and but this is what it looks like when you start to take away the right of privacy.”
