People scream at Rep. George Santos (R-NY) as he leaves federal court, where he pled not guilty to 10 new felony counts.

Representative George Santos, a Republican from New York representing parts of Long Island and Queens, was due in court today to plead on ten counts of conspiracy, wire fraud, identity theft, and credit card fraud, because of allegations that he stole money from donors during his congressional campaign.

Santos, who faces other federal charges and has been accused of ethical breaches due to lies about his background, family, and job, is a controversial figure even among Republicans, who are currently debating a resolution to expel him from the House of Representatives.

Cameras rolling outside the courtroom waiting for Santos to make an appearance caught crowds chanting and yelling at him. A crowd chanted “Hey ho! Hey ho! Santos has got to go!” when a man screamed “You killed my dog, George!” referring to accusations that Santos held GoFundMe money raised for a dog’s surgery.

As Santos drove off, a man yelled ”You're not a well-dressed congressman!” He chuckled and concluded, “That must have hurt him the most.”
