Rep. Nancy Mace on Monday said on the House floor that she was raped after her ex-fiancé, Patrick Bryant, and three of his associates drugged her.
In a nearly hour-long speech, Mace accused the four men of knocking her out with a drink, and claimed they separately took photographs and filmed other women and underage girls without their consent.
“I was served two small vodka sodas,” Mace said. “A short time later, I blacked out. I have never blacked out after having a vodka soda or any adult beverage ever.”
“My memories of that night are just flashes, in and out of the dark, flashes in and out of the night. I was raped that night. Was it Patrick Bryant? I don't know. But I was raped. I believe that they purposely incapacitated me,” she said. “Was anyone else there? Was it filmed? Was it sold on the dark web? I have no idea, but I know what these men do to their victims.”
The South Carolina Republican said she was speaking out because her home state’s attorney general, Alan Wilson, did not take appropriate action after she alerted investigators of her claims.
Wilson, also a Republican, will likely be Mace’s opponent if she runs for governor of the state in 2026, which she is considering.
A month ago, Mace posted positively about Wilson on X, writing, “Real men are joining our fight to protect women and girls - he even picked the correct shade of pink too! 🩷 Thank you Attorney General Alan Wilson.”
Wilson and Bryant both deny Mace’s claims.
