Hunter Biden’s attorney slams “unprecedented” House GOP hearing to hold Biden in contempt of Congress.

President Biden’s son Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, who were hearing on whether or not to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for ignoring a subpoena last month. House representative Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina at the meeting, lashed out at him, saying “I think that Hunter Biden should be arrested right here, right now, and go straight to jail.”

She challenged him, “What are you afraid of? You have no balls to come up here.” Florida Democrat Jared Moskowitz then asked for hands to be raised on whether or not they should hear from Biden “right then.” No Republicans raised their hands.

Afterwards, Hunter Biden’s attorney said, “Hunter Biden was and is a private citizen. Despite this, Republicans have sought to use him as a surrogate to attack his father. And despite their improper partisan motives, on six different occasions since February of 2023, we have offered to work with the House committees to see what and how relevant information to any legitimate inquiry could be provided. Our first five offers were ignored. And then in November, they issued a subpoena for a behind-closed-doors deposition, a tactic that the Republicans have repeatedly misused in their political crusade to selectively leak and mischaracterize what witnesses have said.”
