While speaking to supporters in Nashua, New Hampshire, after winning the state’s Republican primary Tuesday night, former President Donald Trump implied Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH) was on drugs. Sununu supported former South Carolina governor and UN ambassador Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign.
“You have the now very unpopular governor of this state. This guy, he’s got to be on something. I’ve never seen anybody with energy. He’s like hopscotch,” Trump told the crowd.
“And, you know, I’m watching this guy, and two weeks ago he said: ‘We’re going to win, we’re going to win in the landslide, we’re going to win.’ About three days ago, he started saying: ‘Well, we want to do well.’ That’s a big difference,” the former president added.
Trump’s victory speech in the Granite State was filled with attacks against Sununu and Haley. The former president was irked about Haley’s messaging after she lost to him in the primary, and claimed she “pretended like she won” in both New Hampshire and Iowa.
