Ten year old Zoey Levesque was practicing with her youth bowling league on Wednesday night at Sparetime Recreation in Lewiston, Maine when a gunman suspected to be 40 year old Robert Card entered and fired shots that sent people scrambling to hide behind pins and machinery.
Zoey’s mother said her daughter was shot in the leg while running away. Zoey herself said, ““I never thought I'd grow up and get a bullet in my leg. And it's just like, why? Like, why do people do this?”
The suspect left, and went to Schemengees Bar and Grille about four miles away, which was offering 25% discounts for people in the restaurant and bar industries. At least 18 people were killed in the two attacks, and 13 more injured. Card is still on the run, and considered to be armed and extremely dangerous. Three counties remain under a shelter in place alert, and Canadian border police are on the lookout.
