Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Monday mocked South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem for her dog-killing book fallout, and criticized her for failing to catch her error in her memoir about a meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

“I've never worked for somebody who shot their puppy in the face,” Psaki said in an interview on “The View,” when co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked her whether she had “seen anything as bizarre” as this saga.

The Republican governor has taken heat for more than a week for her soon-to-be-released memoir including an account of Noem admitting to shooting her dog for aggressive behavior.

“Cricket was a wirehair pointer, about 14 months old,” she wrote, saying the dog was “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with” and “less than worthless … as a hunting dog,” per the Guardian, which obtained a copy of the book. “I hated that dog,” Noem wrote. She went on to detail how she shot Cricket in a gravel pit before she also shot one of her goats.

She then took further criticism for reportedly writing in the memoir that she met with Kim, saying, “I’m sure he underestimated me, having no clue about my experience staring down little tyrants (I’d been a children’s pastor, after all).” However, senior congressional leaders don’t meet with figures like Kim — let alone rank-and-file members like Noem. On Thursday night, her spokesperson seemed to acknowledge her claim was false, saying the book “conflated world leaders’ names.”
