President Joe Biden on Wednesday took a shot at Donald Trump — specifically his hair.

“Remember when [Donald Trump] was trying to deal with COVID, he suggested, inject a little bleach in your veins. He missed it. It all went to his hair,” Biden said during remarks before the North America’s Building Trade Union (NABTU) National Legislative Conference, where the trade union endorsed his 2024 presidential campaign.

“I shouldn't have said that,” Biden immediately said with a wry smile.

Biden’s remarks about his likely opponent in the 2024 presidential election come as Tuesday marked four years since Trump made the false and widely panned suggestion that COVID-19 could be treated with an “injection” of disinfectant. Trump, talking about the effects of light and humidity on how the coronavirus spreads, had claimed that his health advisers would test whether “very powerful light” could be brought “inside the body” to kill COVID-19.

“And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?” he said. “It would be interesting to check that.”

Those comments even prompted Lysol to say: “Under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body.”
